Saw David Cook last night. Great show. He was awesome.. Only bad thing was woman that kept screaming out and making a shrill whistle throughout show. Once or twice, understand but she was disruptive and should have been escorted from the building, especially since many patrons asking her to be quiet. Food pretty decent. Our server Holly was top notch despite how busy venue was. Once again, had they had the venue proactive and removed or cautioned the "whistler", they would have gotten 5 stars for me.
I attended the Bobby Gray and What's New Pussycat Program last Sunday. Both bands and artists were entertaining. The food was delicious. I had the tilapia. It was cooked to perfection as were the baked potato and vegetables. The New York Cheesecake was so creamy. Yummy. Our server, Sierra, was quick in getting our orders to us. Thank you all for a great experience. The box office personnel are wonderful too.
I've seen bands that I like playing here and for some reason, I always thought of it as LA... nope too far and too much traffic. I don't know why. Orange County is far from being LA, so I've probably missed a lot of really great shows because of my geographical challenges. Well I saw that LA Guns was playing here, one of my favorite hair bands from the 80s. Oooh I really want to see them... but it's such a pain to drive to LA. I looked up the miles on my phone.... Uh.... It's literally 35 minutes away. Yay! They serve dinner as well and if you make a reservation, you can order dinner before the show and you get a seat ($20 minimum for dinner per person). The reservation isn't for a specific time, but they start serving dinner around 5pm and tell you that you need to be there for the dinner reservation by 6pm. At least this was for our show that started at 7pm. When you get into the parking lot, it's pretty small, so either plan on getting there early or parking on the outside streets. We got there around 5:45pm and found very easy close parking on the street just outside of the lot. The food was pretty good! I got the teriyaki chicken and my sister got a Caesar salad. The salad was way bigger than the plate it was on but was good... not great, but it's not like dinner was the primary thing here. The mud pie for dessert was super delish! The seats were great and there isn't a bad seat in the place. The chairs are a little uncomfortable and the seats are a little cramped at the long tables. It would have been perfect if maybe 2-4 chairs were removed so it gave you some elbow room. We had a blast and now that my mind has grasped the concept that this isn't LA, I'll be going here more often when bands are playing!
This was a 3 and a half stars for me. There was great, free and close parking! That is awesome and rare. We walked right in. There was no line or wait time. We made reservations to ensure seats together. The problem with the reservations is they force you to order food. I wish it could just be drinks. I don't want to be forced to eat subpar food. The chocolate Wipeout cake was good and came with ice cream. The other items were frozen chicken tenders and a salad that were just edible. The shots were decent size! The sodas do not include refills. The actual chairs were the worst! They are small, old and super rickety. All of our butt and hips hurt. Cushioned and padded chairs would be appreciated! It was a very long night. I wish there wasn't an opening act. We came to see G Love and Special sauce. He was great and we were seated up front! Make sure you get your bill way before the end of the show. We were stuck waiting to close our check at the end of the night for 30 minutes or more while everyone else left. I would come here again if the band was great. I don't think I would do reservations. At least you won't have to go so early and be uncomfortable.
